The MITACS Globalink Research Internship is a Canadian program for students interested in participating in an ongoing research project for 12 weeks.
The requirements for participation are:
- Be a student at a university in Paraná;
- Be enrolled in a full-time program;
- The candidate must be part of a research or extension program/project;
- Have proficiency in the language in which the research project is conducted, which can be English or French.
The selection process for participation usually takes place in August. The process works as follows:
- The candidate submits a letter of recommendation from a professor and the student’s CV, including which research project(s) are of interest.
- The professor from the MITACS program selects the student based on the research project of interest and then conducts an interview with the candidate.
- There are several interesting research project options. The interested student can apply for more than one option, thereby increasing their chances of approval.

The international committee answers your questions:
When is the most recommended time to participate in academic mobility during undergraduate studies?
A: The committee recommends between the 3rd and 4th year. Therefore, the candidate has about two years to prepare financially and build their academic curriculum.
