Industrial Engineering 

The Industrial Engineering program encompasses the planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance of integrated production systems for goods and services, involving people, materials, technology, information, and energy. This field is also responsible for specifying, predicting, and evaluating the impacts of these systems on society and the environment, applying specialized knowledge in mathematics, physics, the humanities, and the social sciences, along with the principles and methods of engineering analysis and design.

• Field of work: Industrial engineers work in various areas, sucincluding operations management, logistics, quality, supply chain managementbyh as operations management, logistics, quality, supply chain, automation, business consulting, product development, and process optimization. The profession is regulated in Brazil by CONFEA/CREA, in accordance with Law No. 5,194 of December 24, 1966.

The Graduate Program in Industrial Engineering (PPGEP) at UFPR aims to train professionals with a multidisciplinary perspective for the analysis and development of proposals related to project, product, and process management, technological innovation, and operations research topics applied to industrial engineering, with a focus on generating sustainable technologies that add value to society.
